PERUMNAS SECURES PERMIT TO DEVELOP STATE-OWNED COMPANIES' LAND FOR FLATS

Jakarta, Oct 3 (ANTARA) - State-owned public housing company Perumnas has secured a permit from the office of the state minister for state-owned firms to develop land belonging to state-owned companies for the construction of flats.

"The state minister for state-owned companies (Sofyan Djalil) hopes the land would be used for the welfare of the companies' employees," the marketing director of Perum Perumnas, Teddy Robinson, said when contacted for confirmation here on Friday.

He said the instruction for the land use was issued directly by the minister.

He said the appointment of Perumnas (to manage the land) would make it easier for the development of the land especially with regard to funding the implementation of the Rusunami (subsidized flat development) program.

The minister has prohibited the use of the land for purposes other than it is intended for. "It would be better to use the land for the development of housing for employees of the state-owned companies to help increase their productivity," he said.

Based on data at least 50 Rusunami projects could be built on the land belonging the state-owned companies in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi and Tangerang (Jabodetabek). However so far only the land of PT PLN and PT Angkasa Pura that was ready to be exploited.

"A memorandum of understanding has been signed by the two companies which will later be improved to a cooperation agreeement for that purpose," he said.

He said the PLN land is around 12.5 hectares while the Angkasa Pura land is 8,000 square meters wide in Rawasari, East Jakarta.

He said the cooperation with the state-owned companies was Perumnas' solution with regard to providing land for the project.

He said Perumnas land in Pulo Gebang was ready for Rusunami development by PT Primaland and PT Bakrieland Development Tbk.
