Heavy snowfall paralyzes daily life in many provinces

ANKARA/SIVAS (A.A) - February 8, 2012 - Heavy snowfall has paralyzed daily life and traffic in several provinces of Turkey. Roads to 1,397 villages in central province of Sivas, eastern provinces of Elazig and Malatya as well as roads in several provinces in Black Sea Region have been blocked by snow. Schools were closed due to poor weather conditions and snowfall in several provinces. Turkey's national air carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), has cancelled 70 flights on Wednesday due to bad weather conditions.
