Turkey prosecutor orders country's top spy for testimony

ISTANBUL (A.A) - February 8, 2012 - An Istanbul prosecutor has ordered Turkey's chief intelligence official to testify in an investigation into an alleged urban network of the terrorist PKK organization, Istanbul's deputy chief prosecutor told reporters. Hakan Fidan, under secretary of the National Intelligence Organization, or MIT, as well as the organization's former head Emre Taner and its former deputy head Afet Gunes were called to summon Thursday for testimony before the prosecutor with special authority, Sadrettin Sarikaya.   Prosecutor Sarikaya leads the investigation into "the Kurdistan Communities' Union/Turkey Council, or KCK, the alleged urban establishment of PKK.  Thirty-one people including a former lawmaker and a political party leader were detained last month under the investigation in Istanbul.
