AA to open new regional directorates

ANKARA (A.A) - February 8, 2012 - Anadolu Agency (AA) will open new regional directorates in Baku, Cairo and Sarajevo, director general said on Wednesday. AA Director General and President of AA Executive Board Kemal Ozturk said AA was reconstructing itself so that it could operate all around the world. "We will inaugurate AA Balkan Regional Directorate in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on March 11, and launch broadcasting in Bosnian," Ozturk said during inauguration of AA's Journalism Academy in Ankara. Ozturk said that AA would establish another regional directorate in Baku, Azerbaijan to broadcast in Russian. "Then we will open a regional directorate in Cairo (Egypt) to broadcast in Arabic language, to which we attach vital importance," Ozturk said. Ozturk expressed his hope that AA would become stronger and fulfil more beneficial projects in the future. Moreover, Ozturk said that students would receive 376 hours of theoretical and 224 hours of practical training at the journalism academy. "They will continue their practical training in the field with supervision of AA's experienced masters and they will improve themselves," Ozturk also said.
