Turkish economy minister: Turkey makes its highest export to Germany

BERLIN (A.A) - Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that Turkey was making its highest export to Germany.  After inaugurating "Fruit Logistica" fair together with German Minister for Consumer Protection & Agriculture Ilse Aigner and visiting stands in the fair, Caglayan told Turkish reporters that 46 percent of Turkey's export was made to Europe, adding that 95 percent of export to Europe was comprised of industrial products. Caglayan said that one of each eight refrigerators, which was used in Britain, was produced in Turkey, and one of each three televisions in Europe was Turkish product. Noting that 2023 would be Turkey's most successful period, Caglayan said that efforts would continue to be among top ten biggest economies of the world and increase export to 500 billion USD and rise fresh fruit and vegetable export to 10 billion USD. Caglayan also expressed pleasure over Turkey's being guest country in "Fruit Logistica", and said that Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable export in 2010 reached 2.5 billion USD. Meanwhile, German minister Aigner told AA that Turkey and Germany had been reliable and close allies for long years, adding that Turkey made the most export to Germany and other EU countries. Aigner said that Turkey and Germany were also conducting joint projects in agriculture sector which was for the interest of both countries.
