A leading Turkish company to make €1 bln investment in energy sector by 2015

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 13.02.2012 - A leading Turkish company plans to make €1 billion investment in the energy sector by 2015. Murat Ozyegin, a member of executive board of Fiba Holding, held a press conference in Istanbul and said that the company started its investments in the energy sector with 125 million Turkish lira (TL) in 2007 and now the company's investments in wind energy reached 450 million TL. "As of the end of 2013, we will have 375 MW of installed power in the wind energy," he said. Ozyegin said that the company's investments in the wind energy would reach 1 billion Turkish lira at the end of 2013, stating that the company was also interested in geothermal, solar, hydroelectric energy and thermal power plants. Founded in 1987, the Fiba Group today is a respected and well-known player in national and international markets. Fiba Group controls an investment portfolio of high-value brand names in both financial and non-financial lines of business. The Fiba Group's investments in the financial services industry are in banking, leasing, factoring, insurance, NPL management and private equity fund. Its non-financial investments are in aviation, retailing, real estate, energy, ship building and port management.
