Turkish FM pledges continued support for Bosnia-Herzegovina

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said Turkey would continue to extend support to Bosnia Herzegovina in the country's efforts to strengthen national reconciliation and achieve economic development. "Bosnia-Herzegovina is going through historic times which presents many challenges as well as many opportunities. As we did in the past, we will continue to stand by Bosnia-Herzegovina in this new era," Davutoglu told a joint press conference in Ankara with Bakir Izetbegovich, Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina.      Davutoglu said Turkey strongly supported Bosnia-Herzegovina's membership in NATO, which he said would prepare a major ground for the country's security and contribute to peace and stability in the Balkans.   Izetbegovich, on his part, said that the biggest challenge before Bosnia-Herzegovina was to cement a lasting peace between peoples of the country, adding that they needed support to make sure that refugees could return to their homes.  Izetbegovich said his country's accession to NATO was of utmost importance, adding that the NATO membership would make a great contribution to peace.
