Turkey, Ukraine exchange views on coal technologies

KIEV (A.A) - Turkey's energy and natural resources minister said on Wednesday that he exchanged views with Ukrainian executives on coal technologies and management. Taner Yildiz said Ukraine was experienced on coal technologies. "Turkey is experienced on management, and we exchanged views on these issues," Yildiz said after meeting Ukrainian Minister of Energy & Coal Industry Yuriy Boyko in Kiev. Yildiz said they exchanged views on solving problems caused by bad weather conditions, Ukraine had said that it could give natural gas to Turkey from its depots and thanked Ukraine for this.  The minister said the two countries signed a protocol on how pipeline developments could affect bilateral relations. Yildiz quoted Ukraine as saying that it could be interested in thermic power plant tenders, and said they discussed ways to increase natural gas storing capacity of Turkey.  Turkey and Ukraine would also discuss management of nuclear power plants and how Turkey could make use of Ukraine's know-how and experiences, Yildiz said.
