Philippine Scholar: Iran Not After Building N-Weapons

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 16, IRNA - Head of the Philippines's Inter-Religious Dialogue Center Pedero Carlos said on Wednesday Iran is not after building any nuclear weapons. He made the remarks in a the meeting themed “Iran Today” in Manila University sponsored by Philippine Catholic Church priests. Saying Iran is an influential country in the world, Carlos said he was confident that Iranian leaders have banned nuclear weapons based on religious decrees and for this reason the country will never build or use such internationally banned weapons. Describing Iran’s nuclear activities as 'peaceful', he said it is the right of Iran or any other countries to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The university scholar said all should should stick to diplomacy to stop those countries trying to fan the flames of sectarian wars./end
