EP women rights rapporteur due to Turkey

THE HAGUE (A.A) - February 16, 2012 - European Parliament's (EP) rapporteur on women's rights in Turkey will pay a visit to Turkey, her office said on Thursday. Emine Bozkurt will pay a working trip to Turkey between February 20 and 24 to receive information about recent developments in Turkey. Bozkurt will be in Ankara on February 20, and meet Turkish Family and Social Policies Minister Fatma Sahin, European Union (EU) Minister Egemen Bagis, Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin and Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin. Emine Bozkurt will visit Turkish Parliament and gather together with chairpeople of Gender Equality Committee, Human Rights Committee, EU-Turkey Joint Parliament Committee. Bozkurt will hold a press conference on February 22, and deliver a speech in a panel discussion on Arab Spring and Turkey on February 23. EP rapporteur Bozkurt will depart from Turkey on February 24 after attending EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee.
