Malaysian Envoy Urges Expansion Of Tourism Co-op With Iran

Tabriz, Feb 19, IRNA - Malaysian Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad Sadegh Gani on Saturday underlined the expansion of cooperation with Iran in the field of tourism. Gani made the remarks in a meeting with the Head of East Azarbaijan province's Tourism Organization Torab Mohammadi in Tabriz. “Despite western countries' attempts to tarnish the image of Iran before the world, expansion of tourism cooperation will serve to introduce Iran’s real image to other nations,” Gani said. Referring to Iran-Malaysia friendly ties, he said Malaysia is not impressed by western countries’ negative propaganda against Iran. Gani described tourism as an economic and cultural entity and said that Iran can defuse western media's negative propaganda with its rich tourism potentials. Gani said holding joint arts and handicrafts exhibitions as well as tourism and cultural festivals can help expand mutual cooperation./end
