Turkish language olympiad held in Texas, U.S.

HOUSTON (A.A) - February 20, 2012 - The sixth edition of the Turkish language Olympiad was held in Houston, Texas, over the weekend with the participation of Turkish and American children. Garbed in traditional Turkish clothes, American children performed traditional Turkish dances and folk songs from Anatolia as well as popular Turkish songs at the event in Houston's Hobby Center for Performing Arts organized by Raindrop Turkish House.     The jury awarded Lorna Hale with the top prize in the category poem-reciting, Sonia Tapscott in singing category and San Antonio Folk Dances Group in dance category with the traditional Black Sea dance of "Horon."
