Turkish deputy premier expresses eagerness to see Chinese banks in Turkey
ISTANBUL (A.A) - February 22, 2012 - Turkey's deputy prime minister expressed eagerness on Wednesday to see Chinese banks in Turkey.
Ali Babacan said Turkey wanted Chinese banks to make more business and open more branches in its territories.
"We also want Turkish banks to be more active in China. Two governments have launched initiatives regarding mutual licenses," Babacan said during Turkey-China Economic and Commercial Cooperation Forum in Istanbul.
Babacan also said Turkish and Chinese companies could establish partnerships and undertake projects in other countries.
Trade volume between Turkey and China was only 1 billion USD in 2002, and it climbed to 24 billion USD in 2011.
