Mecca, Medina photographs to be exhibited in Istanbul

JEDDAH (A.A) - February 23, 2012 - Photographs of Saudi Arabian cities of Mecca and Medina will be exhibited in Istanbul. Prof.Dr. Mehmet Gormez, the head of Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate, met Sami Angawi, the founder of Hajj Research Center and a prominent architect, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, Gormez and Angawi agreed to exhibit Angawi's special collection of Mecca and Medina photographs in Istanbul. The same exhibition will later be opened in Ankara and Konya.  Angawi said they were working on different projects not to demolish historical porticos around Kaaba. Gormez will meet Saudi Arabia's Minister of Pilgrimage Affairs & Religious Trusts Bandar bin Muhammad Hajjar and sign pilgrimage protocol for 2012.
