Doctors remove limbs from quadruple limb transplant patient in Turkey

ANKARA (A.A) - February 27, 2012 - A team of Turkish physicians removed Monday two arms and a leg from a patient who received over the weekend the world's first quadruple limb transplant in a university hospital in Turkey. Doctors at the Ankara-based Hacettepe University were forced to detach two arms and the right leg transplanted to Sevket Cavdar when the patient's heart and vascular system could not sustain the limbs. The left leg was removed earlier on Sunday due to the same reason.     Cavdar was under intensive care. A full face transplant patient, who was operated by the same team of surgeons, was reported to be in good condition.
