Heavy snowfall paralyzes life in some parts of Turkey

ANKARA (A.A) - February 28, 2012 - Heavy snowfall have paralyzed life in some parts of Turkey on Tuesday. A total of 1,354 villages have been closed to motor vehicles traffic due to heavy snowfall in the provinces of Sivas, Malatya, Tunceli, Bolu, Mus, Sakarya, Bitlis, Denizli, Ankara, Van, Manisa and Bursa. Schools in some towns have been closed for one day due to bad weather conditions. Meanwhile, snow thickness at the north-western mountain of Uludag, a major skiing center of Europe, has reached three meters on Tuesday.
