FM Highlights Iran's Great Achievements, Self-sufficiency

Tehran, March 12, IRNA - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran with reliance on its own capabilities and doemstic workforces has made remarkable achievements and attained self-sufficiency in many fields. Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Zimbabwean Defense Minister Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in Tehran on Sunday. The foreigners did their utmost to prevent Iran's success and development but to no avail, he said. According to the Information and Press Bureau of the ministry of foreign affairs, in the meeting the two sides discussed expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries. The two sides also highlighted good political relations between the two countries and the firm determination of both sides' high ranking officials to broaden all out relations mainly in the areas of commerce and defense, Salehi said. Iran. with reliance on its domestic workforces has attained independence and self-sufficiency in the areas of nuclear technology, aviation, nano-technology and defense industries, Salehi said. Salehi voiced Iran’s readiness for exchange of experiences and broadening of cooperation between the two sides and hoped to witness promotion of all-out ties between the two countries. The Zimbabwean defense minister, for his part, expresses satisfaction with his visit to Iran and expressed the hope that bilateral relations and cooperation would further expand. Fortunately, the Zimbabwean people have overcome many difficulties and successfully implemented their political and economic programs, he said. He voiced his country’s readiness to broaden cooperation with Iran and utilize Iran’s valuable experiences in commerce, industry, energy and defense sectors./end
