Malaysia's Former Deputy PM Receives Jubilee Medal From Kazakhstan

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation chairman and former deputy prime minister Musa Hitam has been awarded a Jubilee Medal by Kazakhstan. The award presented Thursday by Kazakhstan Ambassador to Malaysia, Beibut B. Atamkulov is to commemorate Kazakhstan's 20th anniversary of independence and for development of Malaysian and Kazakh relations, WIEF said in a statement here, Thursday. The statement also said that the award was established to encourage Kazakhstan citizens, friends and supporters to make significant contributions to development and strengthen statehood and sovereignty. Musa received the award for his work towards the advancement of the socio economic wellbeing of communities worldwide as well as special merits in maintaining peace, justice and sustainable development. -- BERNAMA
