Suzuki Malaysia Unveils Sport Suzuki Kizashi In M'sian Market

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd Friday introduced the imported Suzuki Kizashi 2.4L standard and sporty version to the Malaysian market. The media launch here signifies Suzuki's milestone entrance into the D-segment category of the automotive market or the sporty and elegance sedan segment, expanding its line-up beyond the small cars segment. Deputy Managing Director Shinya Yokokawa said the Suzuki Kizashi 2.4L would be the new flagship vehicle in the D-segment category. "The new sporty and elegant sedan will further expand and strengthen the company's current product line of compact cars and sport utility vehicles. "Kizashi" comes from a Japanese word which means "a sign of great things to come", Yokokawa said. Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Executive Advisor Kenjiro Matsumoto said the Kazashi model was launched in Japan in 2009 but the delay in entering the Malaysian market was because Suzuki wants to establish a better stronghold among its dealers here. To date, Suzuki has sold 28,000 units worldwide since 2009. Suzuki Malaysia Automobile is an authorised distributor of Suzuki automobiles since 2005. Suzuki Motor Corporation and Itochu Corporation signed a joint-venture agreement with DRB-Hicom in 2008 on a 40:20:40 shareholding ratio to further establish and promote Suzuki automobiles in Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
