Cathay Pacific Increases Flight Frequency For Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong Route

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia), March 26 (Bernama) -- Cathay Pacific has increased the flight frequency of its Hong Kong-Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong route, from three daily at present to four, effective today. Its Southeast Asian General Manager, Wilson Yam said the new service gives travelers from Malaysia greater choice and convenience, as well as enhanced connectivity to other destinations in Cathay Pacific's extensive international network. Speaking to reporters at the launch of the fourth daily flight at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport here Monday, Yam said that besides Kuala Lumpur, there is also a plan to increase services between northern state of Malaysia, Penang and Hong Kong. He said this involves an additional three services on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from the current seven weekly, effective Tuesday. Also present at the launch was Malaysia Airports' senior general manager, Operations Services, Azmi Murad. The new services will bring the total number of flights between Malaysia and Hong Kong to 38 weekly. Yam said besides Malaysia, Cathay Pacific, also plans to increase the flight frequency in other Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines. On the airline's performance last year, he said that despite the difficult circumstances such as the floods in Thailand and earthquake in Japan, the Group had made a profit of 5.5 billion Hong Kong Dollars (US$707 million). "Although 2012 will continue to be a very challenging year for airlines, Cathay Pacific is committed to providing the best customer services for our passengers," he added. -- BERNAMA
