Second Finance Minister To Lead M'sia's Delegation To Asean Finance Ministers' Meeting In Phnom Penh

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- Second Finance Minister of Malaysia Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah will lead Malaysia's delegation to the 16th Asean Finance Ministers' Meeting in Phnom Penh. At the two-day meeting beginning Thursday, Ahmad Husni will brief the Asean finance ministers and the delegates on the progress of the US$485.2 million Asean Infrastructure Fund. Asean finance ministers signed an agreement to establish the fund in Washington on September 2011. Asean member states contributed US$335.2 million to the fund while Manila-based Asian Development Bank chipped in US$150 million. The meeting will discuss issues of mutual and regional interests, economic, financial and liberalisation initiatives in the financial services sector, capital market development and capital account. Ahmad Husni will also participate in the Asean Finance Ministers’ Retreat where the ministers will engage in informal discussions to improve collaborations in the financial sector. The meeting themed "Asean: One Community, One Destination" will be chaired by Cambodia's Economic and Finance Minister.
