Scania Malaysia Eyes Bigger Market Share

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), March 27 (Bernama) -- Scania, a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses, aims to increase its overall market share in Malaysia to 10 percent this year from nine percent in 2011. Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director, James Armstrong said the company recorded total sales of 240 units of prime movers last year and this is expected to grow by about 30 per cent this year. The target was based on the group's approach in maximising each truck's lifecycle income which ultimately leads to maximum profitability for its customers. Armstrong was speaking at a media briefing after the official handover of Scania's P340 LA 4X2 MZS prime movers to Nexus Mega Carriers Sdn Bhd here on Tuesday. The P340 prime movers are powered by a 340hp engine which is Euro-3 compliant for lower emission levels. They are also equipped with other advanced features such as steering wheel mounted cruise control and speed limiter, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience. -- BERNAMA
