Yemen, China discuss fishing cooperation

SANA'A, Oct. 08 (Saba)- Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mohammed
Shamlan held on Wednesday a meeting with the Commercial Attaché at
Chinese embassy in Sana'a over possibilities of setting up fishing
port in the Hodeidah governorate funded jointly by Yemeni and
Chinese governments.

The two sides agreed to draft a protocol to carry out several fishing projects as
well as technical assistance
to establish information and telecom network to link all unloading centers with
fishing societies.

The Chinese diplomat voiced readiness of his country to invest in fishing sector in
Yemen.The
minister welcomed the Chinese investments in this sector, viewing current investment
opportunities.On the other hand, the minister met
with the representative of Food and Agricultural Organization FAO in Yemen Hisham
al-Shami on ending his mission in Yemen.The minister
valued efforts exerted by al-Shami to enhance ties between Yemen and
the organization.
