PGPF In Support Of Global March To Jerusalem
KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- The Perdana Global Peace Foundation
(PGPF) supports and stand in complete solidarity with the Global March to
Jerusalem, scheduled to be held on Friday.
Its chairman Norian Mai said the date was significant since it was
‘Land Day’, a day that has historically been commemorated against blatant theft
and confiscation of Palestinian land throughout the occupied territories and
Israel.
"Jerusalem, the heart of the Palestinian cause, stands out as the prime
example of outright occupation. Both the United Nations and the International
Court of Justice view the annexation of East Jerusalem as a violation of
international law, yet nothing has been done to correct this injustice.
"The Zionist campaign of ethnic cleansing in Jerusalem and elsewhere in
occupied Palestine has been increasing in momentum, with ongoing settlement
schemes aimed at changing the demographic, social and geographic situation in
the occupied territories," he said in a statement here on Thursday.
Norian said the Judaisation of Jerusalem was almost complete, save for Aqsa
Sharif sanctuary, and some prominent Christian holy sites.
He said PGPF also condemned the continuation of the Zionist occupation
forces in building the apartheid wall that aims to expropriate more Palestinian
land and convert the occupied areas into shrinking cantons, isolated from each
other.
"We support the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, their
right of return to live in freedom and dignity in a free Palestine, like all
other people on earth.
"We are of the view that legitimate and moral right should prevail over
illegal military might and aggression," he said.
He said a Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ) was an initiative by the
responsible people of the world who have taken it upon themselves to call to
attention this abomination, by mobilising themselves in every part of the world,
representing religious, humanitarian, and cultural background.
"PGPF, therefore, lends our name to support the convergence of people from
all countries and continents of the world to Jerusalem, and the nearest points
to which they are able to approach, both inside Palestine and at the Palestinian
borders with Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, in a peaceful march towards
Jerusalem," he said.
