20 Foreign Delegates Visit Malaysian Peacekeeping Training Centre

PORT DICKSON (Seremban, Malaysia), March 30 (Bernama) -- Twenty foreign delegates comprising ambassadors, high commissioners and attaches visited the Malaysian Peacekeeping Training Centre (MPTC) here Friday. The delegates were from Belgium, Chile, the United States, Finland, India, Jordan, Mexico, Russia, Norway and Singapore. Present during the visit were Defence Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Dr Ismail Bakar; Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt Gen Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor and United Nations Resident Coordinator for Malaysia Kamal Malhotra. The visit is a collaboration between the ministry and the United Nations Development Programme and aimed at commercialising MPTC internationally. During the visit, the delegates were briefed by the ministry's director-general (training branch for defence) Brig-Jen Hasny Md Salleh on Malaysia's involvement at international peacekeeping missions and courses offered in MPTC, among others. -- BERNAMA
