Another Malaysian Confirmed Killed In Hat Yai Bombing

From Kamarul Ariffin Md Yasin and Mohd Khairul Fikri Osman HAT YAI (Thailand), April 3 (Bernama) -- Another Malaysian has been confirmed to have been killed in the bombing incident here on Saturday, bringing the dead toll involving Malaysians to two people. Malaysia's Consul-General in Songkhla, Mohd Aini Atan said the second Malaysian fatality was Tan Peng Chan, 39, from Kuala Kedah. "Although the results of a DNA test on the body of a victim who could not be identified will only be released Tuesday or on Wednesday, the victim's family has confirmed the body is Tan's. "This was based on a ring the victim was wearing and tattoos on the body," he told Malaysian journalists here Monday. The other Malaysian who died in the bombing incident in Hat Yai, believed to be from a car explosion at the basement parking lot of a leading hotel here, was Low Thian Hock, 46, from Kulim, Kedah. Five injured Malaysians are still receiving treatment at two hospitals here. Those warded at the Songkhla Nagarind Hospital are Lew Kim Lai, 39, who is in the Intensive Care Unit, Lim Hock Bee, 37, Wong Sze Ee, 32, and Fook Hock Chuan, 33, while Choo Kok Boon, 46, is warded at Hospital Rajyindee. -- BERNAMA
