Malaysia Airlines Providing Authentic Indian Cuisine For Departures From India

KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has enhanced its inflight meal service by providing authentic Indian cuisine on its flights departing from Indian destinations to Kuala Lumpur. Azahar Hamid, MAS regional senior vice-president (Middle East and South Asia), said this was made possible through a joint effort between the airlines and Taj Group of Hotels together with Taj SATS Air Catering Ltd for its non-stop flights from New Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore to Malaysia. "This is our second collaboration with them to further enhance the experience of passengers travelling with us. "Many traditional and popular Indian regional signature dishes from the hotel have been incorporated into the MAS inflight menu to give passengers a rare taste of Indian gastronomic delights," he said in a statement, Sunday. Passengers can now enjoy dishes like Ennai Kathrikai, a spicy brinjal preparation, Alleepy Veg Curry which is Kerala's delicacy, lamb dishes and so on. Azahar said the choices of inflight vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals were available to passengers flying both business and economy classes. "Passengers can now look forward to more variety in dining, be it dinner or supper. We are committed to offering menu choices to suit the palate of customers from the various regions of India," he said. In preparing the regional Indian dishes, he said stringent standards and the best ingredients were used, while also conforming to the strict Islamic dietary law and quality set along the halal benchmark. -- BERNAMA
