Walk With Me In Transforming Malaysia, Says PM
KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 (Bernama) -- Saying that he cannot build Malaysia's
future alone, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak Thursday called on
Malaysians to walk with him in the journey to transform the country.
"In all our efforts, we are firmly committed to the principle that under the
Malaysian sky, no community will be left out," he said in his blog
1Malaysia.com.my in conjunction with the Indian New Year and Vaisakhi.
Malaysia's Tamil community will be celebrating its new year "Putthandu"
Friday while the Malayali community will be celebrating "Vishu" on Saturday.
And on Saturday, the Malaysian Sikh community will also be celebrating
“Vaisakhi”, an auspicious day marking the birth of the “Khalsa."
Najib said the government was constantly engaging directly with the people
and implementing various programmes to transform the country.
"The government is also committed to delivering all our promises to the
Indian community, and we have been doing just that over the last 3 years.
"The results are clear and the impact is positive," he added.
The prime minister said the government would continue to play a role as a
real partner of the Indian community and "together, we will deliver results that
directly improve the quality of life of Malaysian Indians."
Najib said in realising the 1Malaysia concept, Malaysian Indians also
play an important role in working with the government to address the issues
faced by the people.
"In building a future full of hope for our families, our communities and
our country, let us continue to build this partnership based on trust, or
“nambikei”," he said.
Najib in his message wished all Hindus a very Happy New Year and to all
Sikhs, a very Happy Vaisakhi.
