Superior, Highly Developed Armaments Made Protection Easier - M'sian Igp

KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- Superior and highly developed armaments and security devices has made the task of protecting the public from danger more efficient and competent, said Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar. He said law enforcers must be more advanced than criminals in terms of knowledge and information so as to outsmart criminal attempts. "As justice and order become more advanced and sophisticated, criminal activities and their malicious methods are also fueled by the latest technology in becoming more elusive, undetectable and untraceable," he said in his speech that was read by his Deputy Khalid Abu Bakar during a dinner organised in conjunction with Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition and Conference here Tuesday. Ismail said law enforcement was essential in guaranteeing peace and order within a society that can create a favourable environment to enable a country to compete effectively in the global arena. "Constantly updated innovations and improvements by available technology and resources has made the task of protecting public much easier," he said. On the 13th DSA at Putra World Trade Centre which will close its curtain on Thursday, Ismail said DSA would be an ideal avenue for armed forces and security personnel from Asia and Malaysia to keep abreast with industry advancements through a 'hands-on' to the products and technology. -- BERNAMA
