Call For Young Graduates To Venture Into Marine Fish Breeding Industry

JASIN (Melaka, Malaysia), April 20 (Bernama) -- Young graduates have been encouraged to grab all available opportunities in the marine fish breeding industry, which will enable them to earn a monthly income of more than RM2,000 (US$651.89). Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Mohd Johari Baharum said the ministry, through state fisheries departments and state governments, would provide trainings, guidance and infrastructutal assistance to young graduates who were keen to make marine fish breeding as a career. He said the ministry would also help those graduates to acquire land to implement the fish-breeding project. For example, he said 10 young graduates had been selected so far and were given a monthly allowance of RM600 (US$195.57) each to participate in the marine fish breeding piooner project under the Marine Fish Nursery at the Aquaculture Industrial Zone in Sempang, Merlimau here. "Upon completion of their six-month training, the ministry will also give each of them financial aid of RM50,000 (US$16,297.26) to kickstart their own marine fish-breeding project," he told reporters after the launch of the Marine Fish Nursery by Jasin assemblyman, Ahmad Hamzah. -- BERNAMA
