Malaysia Can Provide Quality At Reasonable Cost, Says Deputy Minister

KYOTO, April 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia can provide equal level of quality at reasonable cost to companies affected by last year's catastrophe in Japan and Thailand, says International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister. "At the same time we can help them mitigate national disaster-related risks. "Malaysia is blessed with natural environment that is very safe and secured for investment and it is a very ideal destination for this sort of investments," said Mukhriz Mahathir who is leading a 28-member trade and investment mission to Kyoto and Nagoya which began Monday. Asked if interest had been shown to relocate, Mukhriz said the response has been very good. For the Japanese, Mukhriz said they adopted the "China plus one" policy whereby they have investments in China and also want to be present in Asean. "Within Asean, a country that is able to absorb their level of technologies is Malaysia," he told Bernama on the sidelines of the mission. -- BERNAMA
