59 World Class Jetski Competitors To Feature At Terengganu World Invitational Jetrace

KUALA TERENGGANU (Malaysia), April 25 (Bernama) -- Fifty-nine jet skiers will vie for the RM180,000 prize money offered in the Terengganu World Invitational Jetrace Challenge to be held at the Batu Buruk starting Friday. The three-day world class jetski challenge will feature participants from 10 countries, namely Malaysia, Australia, France, Thailand, Britain, Japan, Brunei, Finland, Greece and Singapore. Terengganu State Tourism, Culture, Art and Heritage committee chairman Datuk Abdul Rahin Mohd Said said the jetski challenge, held for the third year, would feature nine categories. The challenge organised by the state government and Terengganu Marina Club would help promote Terengganu as a popular tourist destination for foreigners. “Apart from the Pro-AM Runabout, Expert Runabout and Master Runabout categories, an endurance race will also form part of the challenge. "During the endurance race, participants will try conquer the raging waves between the Batu Buruk beach and Pulau Kapas waters,” he told reporters at Wisma Darul Iman here Wednesday. Abdul Rahin said a number of world champions like Mehdi Menad (France), Seth Wilkinson (Britain), Toshi Ohara (Japan) and Supak Settura (Thailand) are expected to raise the bar of the challenge. -- BERNAMA
