Dry And Hot Weather Forecast For May To Sept In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- The Meteorological Department has forecast a hot and dry weather brought by the south west monsoon to hit the country from this May until September. Its deputy director-general of application, Alui Bahari, however said, the condition would not be as bad as in previous years. On the uncertain and changing weather condition, he said, it was due to monsoon change and expected to return to normal by end of the month. The hot and dry weather is expected to reach a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius, he told Bernama at a national weather forum here Wednesday. Alui said the hot and dry weather condition could result in haze, but could be reduced if there was no open burning. He advised the people to drink more water during the hot and dry weather. "The rainfall distribution is expected to be good and sufficient to meet the water needs of the people during the hot season, but the people are advised not to waste water to avoid shortage of the supply," he added. -- BERNAMA
