India Open: Only Chong Wei And Pair Goh-Lim Qualify For Semi-Finals

BY M SARASWATHI NEW DELHI, April 28 (Bernama) -– Defending champion and top seed at the India Open 2012, Lee Chong Wei and the men's doubles pair of Goh V Shem-Lim Khim Wah pair are the only Malaysians who managed to qualify for semi-finals of the tournament. Chong Wei, who beat Indonesia’s Taufik Hidayat in just two sets of 21-16, 21-13 in today's quarter-finals, will be meeting either Taiwan’s Jen Hao Hsu or Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Vittinghus tomorrow. Meanwhile, Goh and Lim, who dislodged Russia’s Vladimir Ivanov-Ivan Sozonov in 21-17, 16-21, 21-10, will be meeting South Korea’s Sung Hyun Ko and Yeon Seong Yoo Saturday. Another Malaysian men's doubles pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong lost to Indonesia’s Angga Pratama-Ryan Agung Saputra 21-18, 15-21, 19-21 while the national mixed doubles pair of Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying team were beaten by Thailand’s Sudket Prapakamol–Saralee Thoungthongkam in 14-21, 21-15,18-21. -- BERNAMA
