Its Minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, said Qatar, which has been chosen as the World Cup 2022 host, would provide abundant opportunities for the construction of stadiums, roads and other facilities. "Our purpose is to display the ability and to promote Malaysian construction companies, hoping that these companies will get the opportunities to participate in development projects in Qatar," he told a media briefing here. Mustapa is scheduled to launch the "1Malaysia Promotion" in Muscat, Oman, and officiate the Malaysia Services Exhibition 2012 in Doha, Qatar between April 30 and May 3. He said other sectors that Malaysian companies were interested to collaborate included architectural services, landscaping services, infrastructure development and road maintenance. The minister also Mustapa said Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) were an important destination for Malaysia in terms of trade and investment. "This year, we organised the MSE in Qatar. It is an annual event that we do in the Middle East," he said, adding that the delegation would also include members from the healthcare tourism council. The MSE 2012 will be held concurrently with the Ninth International Construction, Building, Environmental Technology and Materials Exhibition.
