KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor received the 2012 National Sports Industry Eminent Person Award at the National Sports Industry Awards-presentation ceremony, here, Sunday night.
The award, which was introduced for the first time, was presented to Rosmah by Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) president Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee (left) and witnessed by Youth and Sports Minister of Malaysia Ahmad Shabery Cheek (right) during the dinner function at Kuala Lumpur Tower, here.
Rosmah, who is also patron of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and the National Athletes Welfare Foundation (Yakeb), also officiated at the function.

"All developments and transformation in activities related to sports will create many economic opportunities for youths.
"Every aspect of organising sports offers a high economic value and lots of opportunities for youths to explore," she said.
Rosmah said youths should be prepared and empower themselves with knowledge in the sports activities they wished to venture into.
"Youths have a tendency to remain in the sports industry compared to other industries. As such, detailed planning and skills are important to ensure their continuance in the industry," she said.
