Ambank Founder And Chairman Awarded Dr M Man Of The Year

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), May 9 (Bernama) -- Ambank Founder and Chairman Azman Hashim was awarded the former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad Man of the Year at the BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2011-2012 on Tuesday night. The award recognises Azman's significant contribution to the development of the country as well as his success in driving Ambank to be one of the main financial institutions in Malaysia. BrandLaureate President Dr K.K. Johan said the theme for this year's event, "Brand Perfect", can be terrifying for some and inspiration for others. "I want and demand perfection and so should everyone in this hall, that should be our brand culture and values," he said during the award presentation ceremony here. Meanwhile, the Dr Siti Hasmah Woman of the Year Award was conferred to the nation's first pioneer woman lawyer and former diplomat, P.G. Lim. Ajinomoto Malaysia Bhd Chairman Gen (R) Dr Mohammed Hashim Mohd Ali, MBF Holdings Bhd Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin and Sunrider Founder and Chairman Dr Chen Tei-Fu were conferred with the The Best Personality Awards. A new category, the BrandLaureate Online Tech Awards, introduced to recognise successful brands in the online and e-commerce categories, were awarded to Groupon Malaysia, Unifi, PYO Travel, Maybank2u.com and Lowyat.net. -- BERNAMA
