Second Finance Minister Of Malaysia To Visit Tunis On May 14-15

KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 (Bernama) -- Second Finance Minister of Malaysia Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah will visit Tunis, capital of the Tunisian Republic, on May 14-15. The two-day working visit is part of the "Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS)" programme between Malaysia and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) launched by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on May 8. In a statement issued Friday, the ministry said the visit is also on the invitation of the republic's Investment and International Cooperation Minister Riadh Bettaieb. "Tunisia is interested to learn from Malaysia's experience and expertise in Islamic finance and banking, Islamic capital market and halal industry," the statement said. In Tunis, Ahmad Husni is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Tunisian officials including Bettaieb, the regional planning and development minister, religious affairs minister, and the central bank governor. Several senior officials from the Finance Ministry, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Halal Industry Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (HIDC) will also be in the Malaysian delegation. -- BERNAMA
