25 Countries To Attend Asian Pre-Delegates Registration Meeting For London Paralympics

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- Some 25 delegations from Asian countries arrived in the Malaysian capital here for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, National Paralympic Committee Asian Pre-Delegates Registration meeting. Asian Paralympic Committee president Zainal Abu Zarin said the meeting would determine the fate of Asian countries' participation in the 2012 London Paralympic games. "We will discuss and resolve a number of issues like registration, types of sport to be held in London," he told Bernama here Tuesday. The meeting to be conducted by representatives from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), will facilitate the registration of contingents from Asian for the London Paralympics Games which starts from Aug 29 to Sept 9. "The London games is slightly more than 100 days away, and looking at the determination of the delegates here, I believe we can create waves and improve on our performances," said Zainal. Among the participating countries are Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, South and North Korea, Macau, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. -- BERNAMA
