Trend Micro Forms Tie-Up With Facebook To Protect Users Digital Life

KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama)-- Trend Micro Inc, the global cloud security provider, on Friday announced a strategic partnership with Facebook to help educate and protect users’ digital life against malicious sites and malware. Through the partnership, Facebook would support integration of the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network infrastructure, which uses cloud technology, threat correlation and a global network of threat intelligence sensors to proactively stop malware and web threats before they reach the computer. "Facebook will utilise this technology to help block malicious links from their site," Trend Micro said in a statement. "We also will be teaming up to promote and provide security education which will inform of the latest threat developments through on-going contributions to Facebook’s Security page, e-guides, blog posts, quizzes, videos and more," it added. It said, the company also would offering offering Facebook personal computer users a free six-month trial of Trend Micro Titanium Security Essentials, and for Facebook Mac users a free trial of Trend Micro Smart Surfing for Mac. -- BERNAMA
