"Joint Malaysia-Brunei Photography Exhibition Further Strengthens Bilateral Relations"

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- The Joint Malaysia-Brunei Photography Exhibition 2012 will further strengthen bilateral relation and cooperation that had been established between the two countries for the past 20 years, Information Communication and Culture Ministry Secretary-General Kamaruddin Siaraf said. He said the exhibition was organised to provide better understanding and exposure on the constitutional monarchy system in Malaysia and Brunei. "This photography exhibition also demonstrates the two-way activities that have existed between Malaysia and Brunei," he said in his speech at the opening of the exhibition at the Old Istana Negara here on Friday. He said the exhibition was held in conjunction with the installation of the 14th Malaysia King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, last month. The text of the speech was read by the ministry's deputy secretary-general (Information), Dr Rothiah Omar. Also present at the function were Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ishaaq Abdullah, Information Director-General Ibrahim Abdul Rahman and Brunei Darussalam Information Department Director Dr Muhammad Hadi Muhammad Melayong. Kamaruddin said the exhibition was a continuation of a similar programme held since 2009 by both countries. Last year's exhibition, with the theme "Raja Kita" (Our King) was hosted by Brunei. -- BERNAMA
