Learning Made Fun With New Smartphone Application

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- Parents can now breathe a sigh of relief over their children's addiction to smartphones, as it can be turned into something useful. Through the newly developed "ABC Spy" application for the iPhone and iPad by London-based mobile application developer Stealth Education, children are able to master the Roman alphabets and vocabulary through assisted-learning, photography and social sharing. Stealth Education's chief executive officer Henry Playfoot said the company wanted to assist parents in helping their children learn and have fun at the same time. "What I hope we have achieved with ABC Spy is, giving parents a way of entertaining their children without any need to feel guilty. The child will have great fun playing, with parents safe in the knowledge, that they're learning in an active, creative and exciting way, too," he said in a statement here. ABC Spy encourages children to explore the world around them, whether they are at home, on a special day out, at a friend's house or even on a long car journey. It also helps children expand their vocabulary, create a link between the alphabet and words to objects they see, touch and care about, in what has been proven to be an educational model. Parents can monitor their children's progress through statistics provided in the application, as well as check up on how much time they have clocked up using it, said the statement. -- BERNAMA
