KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), May 21 (Bernama) -- The seventh edition of the
just-concluded Borneo Jazz which has received tremendous response, attracted
8,201 patrons, said Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Rashid

This was in comparision to 7,811 patrons last year.
As the festival organiser, Rashid said STB was confident the trend which was
evident at the two-day Borneo Jazz 2012 in Miri, Sarawak, beginning May 11, would
continue in the coming years.
“We are pleased that Borneo Jazz 2012 has been a success, and are confident
it will be one of the leading jazz events in the region,” he said in a statement
here on Sunday.
He said reports from visiting media representatives also praised the
festival as being the best in the region, given its unique setting, ambience and
choice of bands.
Sixty-five accredited media representatives from eight countries, including
Australia, Japan, United States, Indonesia and Malaysia, attended the event.
Rashid said, Republic of Germany Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Guenter Gruber,
and wife Dr Volker Wolf, and Netherlands Ambassador Paul Bekkers were among
