M'sian University Targets To Be Among Top 100 Universitites In Two Years

KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- University Malaya (UM) targets to be among the top 100 universities in the world in two years, said its Vice-Chancellor Dr Ghauth Jasmon. He said with UM now having full autonomy, the target was achievable. "With the autonomy, we are also free to collaborate with many more top ranked universities which puts us in a good stead to achieve the objective," he told reporters after attending a high-tea function with alumni of the university here Friday. Based on the QS World University Rankings, UM is now in 167th place and 39th best among Asian universities. -- BERNAMA
