MSE2012 In Doha A Resounding Success, Says Matrade
KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) -- The recent Malaysia Services Exhibition
2012 (MSE2012) held in Doha, Qatar, was a resounding success with RM168.29
million (US$54.46 million) worth of business concluded, said the Malaysian
External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade).
Fifty seven companies, government agencies and councils or a total of 106
delegates participated in the exhibition.
Among the government agencies that took part were the Construction
Industry Development Board, Multimedia Development Corporation, Malaysia
Healthcare Travel Council and the Malaysia Timber Council.
MSE 2012, held between April 30 and May 3, at the Doha Exhibition
Centre was held in-conjunction with Project Qatar, an annual construction
sector exhibition in Doha, the agency said.
Matrade said a number of subsidiary programmes were organised alongside
MSE2012 which included the International Partner Matchmaking or IPM, business
visits, meetings and networking sessions for the minister and his delegation,as
well as, for Malaysian participants.
Courtesy calls to the Ministry of Business and Trade as well as the Ministry
of Municipality and Urban Planning, Qatar were also held, the statement said.
In addition, 160 local participants, including government officials and
Malaysian professionals in Qatar, took part in the networking dinner held there
in-conjunction with MSE2012.
Among the objectives of MSE2012 was to promote and brand Malaysian
companies, their services, products and achievements in the international arena
with specific focus on targeting projects slated to be carried-out in
preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Three major services clusters were highlighted in MSE 2012, namely,
construction and professional services related to construction; environment
management services; and information and communications technology and building
materials, it said.
