RI, RP POLICE TO MEET IN MANADO

Manado, Oct 13 (ANTARA) -Indonesian and the Philippine police delegations will hold a meeting in Manado, North Sulawesi, to discuss training cooperation in the fight against crime at sea.

North Sulawesi police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Beny Bella told newsmen here on Monday that the two countries' police delegations have arrived in Manado.

"The Indonesian police delegation was led by Brigadier General Adjie Rustam Randja while the Philippine counterpart was led by Police Director Silvaria Alercia," he said.

He said the two countries' delegations immediately left for Bitung upon arrival here to conduct a field analysis in preparation for the training which is to be held in November.

The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday on the training methods.

"The training is connected with cooperation in handling crime at sea, including poaching," Bella said.
