Political Stability and Peace Attract Investors to Sabah - Chief Minister

SANDAKAN (Sabah,Malaysia), June 19 (Bernama) -- Political stability and peace in the country enabled Sabah, the easternmost state of Malaysia, to receive investments totalling RM10 billion (US$3.17 billion) from foreign investors during the first four months of this year, said Chief Minister Musa Aman. He said these factors represented the main yardstick for foreign investors to place their confidence and come to invest in the state. "Such investments also open up job opportunities for the people in the state and boost up the Sabah economy," he said in his speech at the Gathering With Community Leaders for the Sandakan Zone, here on Monday. He said that the projects that involved substantial investments were the Sabah Ammonia Urea Project in Sipitang, Integrated Animal Breeding Centre in Keningau, which is the country's first large scale breeding centre, and the Lobster Breeding Project in Semporna. He said the beauty of the environment, flora and fauna in the state had also attracted the interest of investors to come to Sabah. -- BERNAMA
