King Presents Instruments of Appointment To Seven Malaysian Envoys

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah on Monday presented the instruments of appointment to four Malaysian ambassadors and three high commissioners at the National Palace (Istana Negara) here. The ambassadors are Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad who has been assigned to Romania, Jamaluddin Sabeh to Poland, Ahmad Anwar Adnan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Mohd Zulkephli Mohd Noor to Turkmenistan. The high commissioners are Rosmidah Zahid (New Zealand), Dr Hasrul Sani Mujtabar (Pakistan) and Norlin Othman (Bangladesh). A statement from the Foreign Ministry said Nik Mustafa was Malaysia's High Commissioner to Nigeria before his new posting, while Jamaluddin was the High Commissioner to Bangladesh. Ahmad Anwar was the High Commissioner to Pakistan before this and Zulkephli, secretary of the Special Tasks on North Africa Division at Wisma Putra. Rosmidah was ambassador to Poland, Dr Hasrul Sani the ambassador to Algeria and Norlin the consul-general in Medan, Indonesia before their new postings. Earlier, Tuanku Abdul Halim (front, right) received letters of credence from three foreign ambassadors-designate, Marco Vinicio Balarezo Lizarzaburu, 55, from Peru, Maria Auxiliadora Figueiredo, 62, from Brazil and Tarik Bukvic, 46, from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Queen, Tuanku Hajah Haminah (front, left) was also present at the ceremony. The others present included Deputy Foreign Minister A.
