Malaysia Willing to Assist Other Countries to Set Up Isamic Banking System

BACHOK (Kelantan,Malaysia), July 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is willing to help other Muslim countries to implement the Islamic banking system, Deputy Finance Minister Dr Awang Adek Hussin said on Sunday. He said Malaysia's success in introducing the Islamic financial system had been recognised by other Muslims countries, including those in the Middle East. "Many Muslim countries want to learn from us on how to implement the Islamic banking system," he told reporters after a function here. Awang Adek said this in response to a statement by the Republic of Guinea President Alpha Conde who was impressed with Malaysia and regarded the country as an exemplary Muslim nation. Conde was in Malaysia for a four-day visit since June 26. "I don't think there is a problem if Guinea wants our help because it is also good for us to share our experiences for mutual benefits," said Awang Adek. -- BERNAMA
