UAE continues providing assistance to Yemen
Sana'a - July 2, 2012 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates, in implementation with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continued providing its assistance to address the urgent humanitarian crisis across Yemen. This also comes in the framework of the ongoing humanitarian initiatives of the State to support brotherly people of Yemen.
The UAE Red Crescent office in Yemen began last night, the distribution of humanitarian aid on a number of families in the capital Sana'a in the framework of ''Sanadhom'' campaign which began last Friday in different UAE's emirates to support the humanitarian conditions in Yemen.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency "WAM", Director of Red Crescent office in Yemen Khalfan Al-Kindi said that the UAE RCA's teams in coordination with the Yemen Red Crescent began their activities last night targeting needy families, through the distribution of food baskets for each family, including "sugar, flour, rice and cooking oil." He stressed that the drive comes in line with the implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the generous support which is a continuation of the humanitarian approach led by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan. They expressed best wishes of good health for Sheikh Khalifa and more prosperity and progress for the people of the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
